 The Savoy Hotel Frankfurt is over rated as a four star hotel; the room was basic and the double bed was two single beds (and mattresses) pushed together; the duvets were single also. During our stay only one of the three lifts was in service and it was extremely slow (we waited ten minutes one morning to travel from the first to the ground floor for breakfast). We felt that it was expensive for the accommodation that we given.
On a positive note, the breakfast selection and quality was very good and the location was central. I have stayed at the Savoy Hotel Frankfurt several times: Sept 2005, Aug 31, Sep 1, Sep 8 and Sep 9 2007. Each time I had a pleasant and enjoyable stay. Each time the staff was very helpful. I purposely booked the Savoy on this last trip because of my positive stay there in 2005. I like its location close to the Hauptbahnhof. Also, I like the fact it is easy to walk to the Roemer section of town from the Savoy. Their breakfast buffet is one of the best I have experienced in my limited travels through Holland, Belgium, Germany, Austria and Switzerland. On my next trip to Frankfurt, I plan to stay there again! I was very satisfied with the price, accommodation and its central location. Staff were friendly and helpful. I would stay there again. |
